About CHIRYO Outcomes and Intervention Services

CHIRYO Outcomes and Intervention Services is dedicated to improving lives one household at a time. We deliver structured, community-based support built around a coordinated multidisciplinary model, where individuals receive the right level of expertise at the right time. Our employment and skills advisers help individuals build clear, realistic pathways towards employment, training, and independence.

About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Employment and Skills Advisers to join our network of self-employed professionals. You’ll work with individuals taking steps towards employment, training, or further education — identifying strengths, setting realistic goals, and breaking down the practical and social barriers that so often stand in the way of meaningful progress.

This role offers genuine flexibility — you choose whether to work with adults, young people, or both, based on your experience and preference. Sessions can be delivered in-person or online, depending on what works best for each client.

You’ll be working with people whose journey towards employment often sits alongside other complex needs — mental health challenges, neurodevelopmental conditions, a history of offending, care experience, or long periods out of work. Your role is to make the process feel manageable, structured, and achievable, meeting each individual where they are.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building trusting relationships with individuals at all stages of their employment journey
  • Conducting strengths-based assessments to identify skills, interests, and aspirations
  • Setting realistic, achievable goals and building clear step-by-step pathways
  • Supporting CV writing, application forms, cover letters, and online job searching
  • Delivering interview preparation, including mock interviews and confidence building
  • Identifying and signposting to relevant training, education, and qualification opportunities
  • Supporting access to apprenticeships, traineeships, work placements, and volunteering
  • Addressing practical barriers — interview clothing, transport, childcare, digital access, ID documents
  • Addressing social and emotional barriers — confidence, anxiety, self-belief, disclosure decisions
  • Supporting clients through the realities of starting work — first-day nerves, workplace expectations, in-work support
  • Working with employers, training providers, and Jobcentre Plus where appropriate
  • Contributing to the wider coordinated support package through appropriate communication with the coordinating team
  • Maintaining professional records of progress and outcomes
  • Upholding safeguarding awareness throughout

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum five years’ experience
  • Demonstrable experience in employment support, careers advice, IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance), or a directly related role
  • Track record of supporting people from unemployment into sustainable work, training, or education
  • Experience working with at least one of: people with mental health challenges, neurodivergent individuals, care leavers, ex-offenders, or people with long-term health conditions
  • Strong working knowledge of the local employment market, training providers, and benefits-into-work transitions
  • Familiarity with the realities of Universal Credit, work allowances, and how work affects benefits
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, particularly around vulnerability and exploitation in employment contexts
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with people who may have experienced repeated setbacks
  • Confidence working independently and managing your own caseload
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to outcomes-focused support

Requirements

  • Self-employed status (sole trader or limited company)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
  • Up-to-date mandatory training (safeguarding, manual handling, first aid, and any role-relevant training)
  • Enhanced DBS certificate, enrolled on the DBS Update Service (or willing to obtain and enrol)
  • Relevant qualifications or training in IAG, careers guidance, or employment support (e.g. Level 3 or 4 in Information, Advice and Guidance; Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development; or equivalent experience)
  • Right to work in the UK

What CHIRYO Outcomes and Intervention Services Offers

  • £25 per hour (£35 per hour bank holidays)
  • Flexible hours agreed directly with each client
  • Choice of in-person or online delivery
  • The autonomy to use your skills and experience to achieve real outcomes
  • Casual dress
  • Coordinated multidisciplinary team around every client
  • Access to specialist colleagues including CPNs, counsellors, behaviour support, and more
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing service genuinely committed to quality and outcomes
