About CHIRYO Outcomes and Intervention Services
CHIRYO Outcomes and Intervention Services is dedicated to improving lives one household at a time. We deliver structured, community-based support built around a coordinated multidisciplinary model, where individuals receive the right level of expertise at the right time. Our Community Psychiatric Nurses are at the centre of comprehensive care planning, providing clinically informed assessment that shapes the wider support package.
About the Role
We are recruiting experienced Community Psychiatric Nurses to join our network of self-employed professionals. You’ll conduct structured mental health assessments for individuals referred to our service, providing a clinical and informed picture of their emotional wellbeing, risk factors, and support needs.
Your assessments will be thorough, accessible, and person-centred. You’ll deliver them either in-person at the individual’s home or online, depending entirely on what works best for them. Many people prefer the flexibility and comfort of online assessment; others benefit from being seen in their own space. You decide the format with each client.
Following each assessment, you’ll produce clear, actionable care planning recommendations that directly inform the coordinated support package. Your clinical insight becomes the foundation for interventions from our wider team – outcome-focused support that’s built on solid clinical understanding from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for individuals with a range of presenting needs
- Assessing emotional wellbeing, mental health status, risk factors, and support requirements
- Identifying presenting concerns and exploring underlying difficulties
- Producing structured, clear care planning recommendations
- Communicating assessment findings to the coordinating team to inform integrated support plans
- Delivering assessments flexibly – in-person at clients’ homes or online, based on individual preference
- Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries throughout the assessment process
- Recording assessments clearly and professionally for care planning purposes
- Contributing to safeguarding awareness within the coordinating team
What We're Looking For
- NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent nursing qualification with mental health specialism – current and in good standing
- Proven experience conducting mental health assessments in community, inpatient, or primary care settings
- Strong clinical knowledge of mental health presentations across the lifespan
- Confidence in risk assessment and risk formulation
- Excellent written communication skills for producing clear, professional assessment reports
- Experience working with individuals presenting complex or co-occurring needs (mental health, neurodevelopmental, substance misuse, trauma)
- Comfortable delivering assessments both face-to-face and via secure video platform
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with people who may find assessment processes daunting
Requirements
- Self-employed status (sole trader or limited company)
- Active NMC registration (verifiable on the NMC register)
- Up-to-date mandatory training (safeguarding adults and children, information governance, mental capacity, lone working)
- Enhanced DBS certificate, enrolled on the DBS Update Service (or willing to obtain and enrol)
- 5 years minimum CPN experience
- Secure, GDPR-compliant means of conducting online assessments (if offering remote)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (for in-person assessments)
- Right to work in the UK
What We Offer
- £35 per hour
- Flexible delivery model — choose how each assessment is conducted alongside the client
- Flexible hours agreed directly with each client
- Work that genuinely shapes outcomes — your clinical assessment forms the foundation of the wider support package
- Casual dress (where role-appropriate)
- Coordinated multidisciplinary team — you’re contributing to a wider package, not working in isolation
- Direct referrals from individuals, families, and professional sources
- The opportunity to be part of a growing service genuinely committed to clinical quality and outcomes
How to Apply
If you’re an experienced CPN looking for flexible, meaningful work where your clinical expertise directly shapes someone’s support journey, we’d love to hear from you.
